Boys and Girls Soccer Camp- Day & Residential

Description:
Dribbling, shooting, heading, tackling and receiving are among the individual skills the camp teaches, along with group and team tactics. Morning sessions focus on functional training that reflects individual and group situations pertaining to the game. Afternoon sessions focus on collective tactics, team preparation, and small-sided games. Evening games will give players the opportunity to put their new skills to test during full-sided games.
The 37th annual Hartwick College Soccer Camp is directed by women's soccer coach Matt Verni, the Hawks' head coach for the last three seasons.

Boys' Basketball Camp

Description:
The boys' basketball camp is under the direction of Hartwick's head men's basketball coach Todd McGuinness.
Designed to enhance the skills of players of all ages, the camp includes drills to improve fundamentals, competitive age-group games, and daily lectures on different facets of the game. Shooting, passing, ball-handling, screening, and pivoting are key fundamentals stressed during the camp. The camp will conclude on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. with an awards ceremony.
Special attention is given to each age group, with older campers receiving advanced instruction in game situations and post-up play. College and high school coaches will be on staff at the camp. The camp will also feature a clinic from a college coach. To help break up each day, campers will have access to the college pool for free swim, and the staff will engage the kids in other team games as well

Competitive Swimming and Diving Camps

Description:
In its 31st summer, the Hartwick College competitive swimming & diving camps are set to provide male and female swimmers and divers ages 8 to 18 an opportunity to develop skills and techniques under the guidance of a highly trained coaching staff. Special two-and three-week sessions are available.

All three swimming weeks feature stroke camps. The second session will be the sprint and distance camp, which emphasizes conditioning and proper training of the major energy systems along with race strategies. The competitive diving camp is a weeklong setup all by itself, which concentrates on technical improvement in 1-and 3-meter springboard diving. This camp session will incorporate the use of two 1-meter boards, two 3-meter boards, trampoline with belts, and dry board with belts.
The stroke technique camps enable competitive swimmers to develop skills and techniques in starts, turns, individual medley, and competitive strokes. Enrollment limit guarantees individual attention (1 to 6 ratio, staff to camper).
Designed for serious swimmers, the camps teach the latest in swimming techniques in a fun-filled setting. Time is provided for relaxation and the program includes a pizza and movie night, a trip to an Oneonta Tigers baseball game, and a trip to a local state park.

Campers will learn:
Fundamental Skills of Basketball · Stretching Techniques · Conditioning Drills that will increase quickness and speed on the court · Strength Training to become a more powerful player · Mental Psychology of the game. The mind is just as, if not more important than the physical body. What you feed your mind with is what you feed your body with.

Girls' Field Hockey Camp

Description:
The field hockey camp is designed to help players improve their fundamental skills, expose them to new strategies and increase their knowledge and enjoyment of the game. In addition to drill work and discussions, the camp will feature competitive games each evening. Hartwick’s Wright Stadium (FieldTurf®) provides the ideal playing surface for the camp.
The camp is directed by Hartwick head coach Anna Meyer. In 22 seasons, Meyer has built Hartwick's field hockey team into a national contender.

Camp staff members will instruct players in the current fundamentals and strategies of field hockey. Stickwork and small team games will be used to stress the concepts and skills required to become a better player. A goalkeeper coach will instruct goalies in the key elements of that position. The camp also includes special activities, including movies, a pizza party, and an ice cream party.

Girls' Volleyball Camp

Description:
Hartwick College Girls' Volleyball Camp:
All campers will be tutored in the basic fundamentals of volleyball. The basics of hitting, passing, setting, and blocking will be taught. Campers will receive instruction in multiple offenses and defenses, as well as serving and serving strategies.
Games will be played each evening, in which campers will be able to utilize their new skills in live game situations. The camp will end with a tournament.

The Hartwick volleyball camp will be under the direction of Louise Lansing, head coach of the Hartwick women's volleyball team. She will be assisted by Hartwick Assistant Coach Rich Gary. Lansing has worked in the Hartwick athletic department since 1982.
