Summer College for High School Students:
One-Week Session Open to all High School Students

Description:
Summer College students enrolled in the one-week session live together in a residence hall while immersing themselves in one of seven workshops. Open to all high school students. No grades or credit are awarded. Students who successfully complete their workshop will receive a certificate of completion. All courses are taught by Ithaca College faculty.

Summer College for High School Students: Three Week Session

Description:
Summer College is a three-week academic program for talented students who have completed their sophomore or junior year in high school. Students live together in a residence hall and choose one of ten courses. Students earn two to four college credits. All courses are taught by Ithaca College faculty
The program includes cocurricular seminars and recreational activities.

Coed • Residential • June 27 - July 16, 2010 • Students who have completed their sophomore or junior year in high school
Students who demonstrate an above-average academic profile, leadership skills, or special talents will be given preference
Application process includes a request for a brief essay explaining your interest in the program, and a request for your high school transcript.
2010 cost: $4,280 - $4,290 depending on number of course credits.
Cost includes room, board, tuition and activities.
A limited number of partial tuition scholarships are available to those in special need who complete a financial aid application, available on the program website.

Summer Piano Institute at Ithaca College

Description:
The Ithaca College School of Music invites talented young pianists, aged 12 through 18, for 10 days of intensive piano study in the heart of the Finger Lakes. The Summer Piano Institute at Ithaca College is a comprehensive program of varied musical experiences held on the beautiful IC campus. Participants use the superb facilities of the James J. Whalen Center for Music, where a nationally and internationally known piano faculty provides a lively array of daily lessons, workshops, classes, and supervised practice. Recreational and social activities, such as field trips and picnics, are offered too. The institute is residential, but commuters are also welcome.

Program Information:
July 1- July 10, 2010 • coed • residential program with a commuter option • enrollment is limited and competitive • must demonstrate musical proficiency and personal maturity • must be at least 12 years old by July 1 (upper age limit is 18)
Application procedure: complete an application; obtain a letter of recommendation from their private teacher for new (non-returning) applicants; include an audio recording with two pieces of contrasting character and style; make a list of the repertoire you have studied during the past two years and indicate which pieces you have memorized or performed in recital.
Application fee- $25 • Application deadline- April 1, 2010 • Notification of acceptance- May 1, 2010
Fees: Residential -- $1,780 (includes instruction, recitals, activities, supervised housing, all meals from dinner Wednesday, July 1 through lunch on Saturday, July 10, plus two tickets for family members to the closing luncheon).
Fees: Commuter -- $1,280 (includes same as for residential participants with the exception of housing and breakfast)

Signature Music Camp

Description:
A Unique Music Camp: Signature Music Camp is a residential, age-focused music camp that utilizes the state-of-the-art Whalen Music Center on the Ithaca College Campus. Activities include: Jazz Ensembles, Concert Band, Show Choirs, Voice/Instrumental/Piano Classes, Sight Singing, Concert Choir, and Improvisation. 2010 marks the 18th season of Signature Music Camp.

Program Information:
Coed • Residential • All applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from music or classroom teacher(s), principal or counselor.

Teen Camp: (entering grades 10-12) • Band - Choir - Jazz Track - Show Choirs
Sunday June 27th – Saturday July 10th, 2010, Concerts July 3rd, and July 10th • cost: $2200
Youth Camp: (entering grades 7-9) • Band - Choir - Jazz Ensembles - Show Choirs
Sunday July 4th – Saturday July 10th • Concert July 10th • cost: $1100

Tuition includes housing and meals, camp t-shirt, CD of the final concert, and camp photo.
Notification of Acceptance: Upon notification of acceptance, students and parents will receive information regarding tuition payments, Ithaca accommodations, health information, and conduct policies. All campers live in the college dormitories for the camp.
