Description:
Spend you summer onstage with other talented young performers and experience the world of musical theatre, dance, and acting in a professionally based, four-week workshop (9am-4pm) for ages *8 -19 yrs old (*must have completed second grade). Five Performance Companies by age and ability so you study & perform with students in your age group. Learn with professionals from Broadway, Regional Theatre, Film, and TV (bio’s on the web site) and perform in an 800-seat professional theatre. A fifth week Teen Cabaret Company Vocal Workshop & performance is an option for advanced teens (by invitation). The hands-on workshop is in residence at the Professional Performing Arts Center at Queensborough College in Bayside, Queens, New York City. Includes classes in dance, acting, on-camera, musical theater, improv, music & voice, and more, in addition to being choreographed by several Broadway Guest Artists. Everyone performs in professionally directed, fully staged shows. Teens: excellent preparation for performing arts schools and colleges. SUMMER 2009 Musical Theatre & Dance Workshops
coed • teens & children (three companies cast -- ages: 7-10, 11-13, 14-19) • day program (commuters only, free parking.)
July 6 – Aug. 2, 2009 • Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Final weekend performance Aug. 2 & 3.) Tuition is $1600 (+ $100 costume fee, yours to keep)

Teen Cabaret Company Workshop: Aug 3 – 9, 2009; Tuition: add $425 (available to teens who have completed the four week Musical Theatre or Acting Ensemble Workshops only.By audition/invitation.) The location is convenient to Queens, NYC, Brooklyn, Long Island, and the metro region. Near LIRR. (No official housing, but YMCA local housing available for independent students. Call for details.) Early drop-off and late pick-up option (pending).

Spend you summer on stage in this four-week acting workshop for the serious young actor (ages 13 – 19). In addition to classes, all are cast in a fully staged play presented to the public in the newly renovated intimate 200-seat Shadow Box Theatre on the Queensborough campus. You study with working professionals in a variety of performing arts classes and rehearse the play each afternoon with a professional stage director. One of the best values in NYC! This workshop immerses teen students in the world of acting in a professional, supportive, and creative atmosphere. Classes have included acting, voice and diction, movement, on-camera, stage combat, mime, stage make-up, period styles, audition technique, improvisation, and other performing arts.
