SUMMER PROGRAMS / CAMPS for 2009 (HS= high school; MS= Middle School) MUSIC PLAY FOR INFANTS, TODDLERS, & PRESCHOOLERS
Playful, non-coercive format in which early childhood music education specialists & parents give newborn - 5 year-old children the building blocks to understand & speak the language of music.

Learn the basics of digital recording. This workshop gives novices the chance to learn the basics with the latest technology.

Develop your creative expression. Sample the four mediums of charcoal, pastel, acrylic, & water using a variety of techniques and tips.

An introduction to the fundamental techniques associated with design & drawing. Learn the principles of two dimensional design and composition.

Produce full color original screen prints of your artwork, posters, or tee shirts using water based ink, stencils, and screen filler techniques.
August 3-7 • 10:00 – 1:00 PM • $99 + materials FASHION ILLUSTRATING HS
Showcase your sketching and drawing Introduction to the human form. Learn basic illustration techniques Utilize three dimensional objects as fashion accessories.

Experience the emotion, spontaneity, and knowledge necessary to create color. Formulate a color palette. Explore designer fashions from around the world
July 13 – 17 • 10:00 – 1:00 PM • $125 BEGINNING SEWING HS
Provides students with the basic knowledge and understanding of sewing. Students will identify sewing tools and their functions and basic machine parts. Within a week participants will be able to operate one of Bernina’s Computerized Machines and sew a pair of customized pajama pants!

Digital imaging is the production of photographic images with a computer, digital camera, or scanner, and printer.
July 27 – 31 • 10:00 – 1:00 PM • $99+ materials JIM KURZDORFER’S JAZZ CAMP HS
No Jazz experience necessary. You must own your own instrument and know how to read music on your instrument. Auditions will be held in July to determine placement.
