Program Information:
Fact or Fiction: The Science Behind the Media – For Those in 9th-12th Grades
This all-day class will use movies as the triggers to learn and apply concepts of forensic science.  This course is a logical follow-up for former Science Academy students who have taken the Science of Forensics courses.
M/T/W/Th, July 20-30, 9:30 am-12:00 noon and 12:30-3:00 pm. $300. #OS-D195
Intro to Human Anatomy – For Ages 8-12
Using skeletons and models, explore basic human anatomy, concentrating on the ways in which body parts fit together to influence how we move, function and carry out everyday physiologic processes. A fun and interactive approach to anatomy!

The Scientist as Detective – For Ages 8-9
How do scientists decide how to investigate the world around us? Students will learn how to decide what questions to ask, what procedures to follow, how to collect and organizer data, and what that data means. Using everyday tools and supplies, each student will perform a mini-research project and prepare a report analyzing the results.

The Scientific Method – For Ages 10-12
This class will provide the opportunity for students to: ask questions, form hypotheses, design and perform experiments, make observations, collect data, and draw conclusions.  This could be a continuation course for students previously enrolled in the Scientist as Detective class.

The Science of Forensics: What’s Behind CSI? – For Ages 13-17
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at CSI? Here’s your chance to become an investigator, explore mock crime scenes, collect evidence, and uncover hidden clues.

The World of Emergency Medicine – For Ages 13-17
Is the notion of being a first responder intriguing?  Have you considered what it would be like to be a paramedic, an ER nurse or doctor?  Come and explore the responsibilities and rewards of being an emergency medicine professional
